Adjustments to admission methods
This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, for the first time implemented a comprehensive admission method. In which, academic scores are determined by combining transcript scores with high school graduation exam scores or competency assessment exam scores of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
General admission uses the following criteria: Results of the 2026 high school graduation exam; Results of the 2026 National University of Ho Chi Minh City competency assessment exam; 3 years of high school academic results; Achievements in academics, social activities, culture, sports, arts; International foreign language certificate.
University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has also just announced the expected university admission direction for 2026 with many new points to improve the quality of admissions.
Accordingly, this year, the school plans to implement two enrollment methods:
Method 1: Direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, for students who won national excellent student prizes, international science Olympiads and subjects according to current regulations.
Method 2: General admission.
Admission formula:
Admission score = Hs1 (Coefficient 1) × High school (High school) + Hs2 (Coefficient 2) × GPA (capacity assessment) + Hs3 (Coefficient 3) × HB (School records) + bonus points (if any) + priority points (if any).
Score component coefficient: Hs1 = 47. 5%, Hs2 = 47. 5%, Hs3 = 5%. Admission score is calculated on a scale of 100 points, the maximum is 100 points.
Opening new training majors
In 2026, the University of Finance - Marketing is expected to enroll students by 5 methods:
- Direct admission according to the Enrollment Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (Code 301)
- High school transcript admission (Code 200)
- Admission based on the 2026 National University of Ho Chi Minh City Aptitude Test (Code 402)
- Admission based on the V-SAT 2026 Exam (Code 416)
- Admission based on the 2026 High School Graduation Exam (Code 100)
The school plans to open 5 new majors, including: Political Economics, Auditing, Economic Management, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science.
Vinh Long University of Technology and Education has also just announced information on regular university enrollment expected for 2026.
For the standard program, in 2026, the school plans to open a series of new training majors, including: Plant Protection, Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry, Mathematics and Informatics, Philosophy, Marketing, Renewable Energy, Oriental Studies, Economic Law.
For Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, in 2026, the school plans to open an additional major in Construction Engineering of Transport Works, including 2 majors: Bridge and Road Construction and Railway Engineering.
