Right after the festival of performing the favor of Buddha Shakyamuni from Thanh Tam Pagoda (HCMC), international Buddhist delegations together performed the ceremony of planting the Bo De Vien World Tree in the Ba Den Mountain area, Tay Ninh.
This is an activity symbolizing the spirit of solidarity, spreading the message of peace and cross-border solidarity of the global Buddhist community.
The badminton trees planted this time are not the same as regular trees, but are extracted from the original badminton trees in Bo De Dao Trang (India) - where Buddha enlightened him more than 2,600 years ago. Each tree is given the order number and national name of the state attending the ceremony, creating an iconic "heritage garden" unprecedented in Vietnam.
This is the first time Vietnam has had a large-scale badminton garden, associated with a global spiritual event. Each tree is a message, a wish for peace to be sent to humanity, a delegate shared at the tree planting ceremony.
After the tree planting ceremony, more than 2,000 delegates gathered at Tay Bo Square in Da Son to participate in the candle burning ceremony. The lanterns lit not only light up the sacred space of Ba Den Mountain but also express the spirit of compassion, intelligence and aspiration for a world of peace, no more suffering.
Ms. Nguyen Lam Nhi Thuy - Deputy General Director of Sun Group Southern region emphasized: "The choice of Ba Den Mountain as the venue for key ceremonies during Vesak 2025 is a great honor, and at the same time an opportunity for Tay Ninh to introduce its sacred and peaceful image to international friends".
The world of Bo De Vien on Ba Den Mountain is not only a highlight during this year's Vesak, but also promises to become a new spiritual symbol of Vietnam in the future.
