On the occasion of Tet and Spring, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters had a conversation with Bui Truong Linh to listen to his confidences about his journey and plans for the new year 2026.
What made you determined to participate in the Anh Trai Say Hi 2025 program?
Before participating in the program, Linh had been making music and accompanying music for quite a long time. However, at that time, the audience knew the song more than knew the image and name buitruonglinh. Coming to Anh Trai Say Hi 2025, Linh hopes to appear more, to stand in front of the audience more directly, so that when people meet Linh, they can say: "Ah, I know this person".
Being recognized more clearly by the audience is an important milestone for Linh. That is the moment when the audience sees the efforts that Linh has silently pursued for a long time.
What have you learned from that journey?
Through the journey at Anh Trai Say Hi 2025, Linh realized that she had learned a lot, especially about how to set goals and maturity in thinking. Before entering the competition, I came with a fairly comfortable mood, mainly to interact, learn and enjoy music.
When looking around the Say Hi room, Linh met older brothers and colleagues that she knew or had heard of. Therefore, I simply thought that being on the same stage, learning from older brothers and bringing my positive energy to the audience was enough.
The deeper I went on the journey, especially in the final stages, the more I realized that I had also changed. I started thinking more about my role in the competition, about the desire to express my personality and music more clearly. Still the same spirit of learning as before, but I understand that I need to try harder and dare to express my wishes.
Bui Truong Linh once said, once you go to the competition, you want to win. So, does the runner-up position in this competition make you feel disappointed? Do you regret anything throughout the Anh Trai Say Hi 2025 journey?
Linh is very satisfied with the current results. What I receive is not only the ranking, but the improvement of myself, the recognition of the audience, the affection, and being loved more. For me, that journey is more important than where I stand in the rankings.
2025 ends with a lot of sweat, effort, glory and recognition, who do you want to say thank you most after that journey?
After the long journey of 2025, Linh wants to thank himself the most. Many times I think that I cannot overcome the challenges in my career, sometimes even negative thoughts. But in the end, I overcame them and reached the final destination.
Of course, I also want to thank my family, relatives and fans who have always supported me. Thank you, the Organizing Committee, the brothers and sisters of the Anh Trai Say Hi 2025 program crew for giving me the opportunity to express myself.
Do you realize what you want to improve and change most to become the perfect version of yourself in 2026?
After a long journey, Linh realizes most clearly that to get closer to a better version of myself, I need to constantly refresh myself and step out of my comfort zone.When participating in a program full of new things like Say Hi, I understand that if I don't change, I won't be able to keep up with that pace.
I have tried and done things that I had never thought of before - from singing and performing difficult movements on stage, to seriously practicing more dance to complete the performance. Those experiences helped me realize that my abilities still have a lot of room to exploit, as long as I am disciplined enough and dare to challenge myself more every day.
With composing, Linh learns to be more flexible and adapt better, because inspiration cannot always be prepared in advance. What I want to improve in the future is the ability to maintain a comfortable but highly focused spirit, to both do my job well and not lose my inherent musical personality.
Another very big change is Linh's perception of connection. I not only have more brothers and sisters accompanying me, but also learn to open my heart, share and appreciate the collective more. At the same time, the affection and support of the audience also makes me more aware of my responsibility when appearing in public - not just as a musician, but as an artist with a story, personality and maturity over time.
I don't think there is an absolute "perfect version", but I believe that every small change, every time I dare to step further than the old limit, is bringing me closer to my best version of myself.
What plans and projects do you have for 2026?
2026, the most certain thing for Linh is still music. I want to continue writing, singing and bringing to the audience my true stories - clearer, more personal and with more emotional depth.
When everything becomes clearer, Linh will actively share with everyone. I hope the audience will still be by my side, follow and support me on the new journey in 2026 - a journey that I believe will have many surprises, many interesting discoveries, and perhaps... a version of Bui Truong Linh that everyone has never seen.
