Towards the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7), on the evening of May 2nd, the Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized an art exhibition with the theme "From battlefield sketches to contemporary colors" at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum.
Specifically, the exhibition displays 28 photos, designed on 17 panels, introducing valuable sketches by artists Ngo Manh Lan, Pham Thanh Tam, Duong Huong Minh painted directly during and after the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
The exhibition is an artistic journey throughout from the past to the present, recreating a heroic historical period of the nation through painting language.
With iron pens, pencils, color powder... each stroke is a vivid testament, crystallized from the courage and soul of artists amidst the smoke and fire of war.

The works of painter Ngo Manh Lan appear as realistic slices from the battlefield, who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. He depicted the image of soldiers through moments of both hardship and human values such as: Opening the road to pull artillery, Learning to build determination, Digging fortifications, Relaxing, Going to Hill A1 after a night of attack...
Painter Pham Thanh Tam's sketch is imbued with the imprint of historical moments associated with the image of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the atmosphere at the battlefield.
The image of the art troupe performing to serve the soldiers after the opening battle into the Him Lam Resistance Center is recreated through the work Spring in the Artillery Cellar.
Painter Duong Huong Minh's sketch vividly recreated images of soldiers opening roads to pull artillery, hero To Vinh Dien, frontline civilian laborers and the strength of national unity.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet Nga - Director of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, through the exhibition, the Museum wishes to introduce to the public sketches with unique historical and artistic value, and at the same time create a continuation from battlefield sketches to contemporary art creation through the panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign".

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also organized exchanges and seminars with painters and people who participated in drawing the panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign".
