Recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in the area near the Ninh Co River (Nghia Son commune, Ninh Binh province), during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, workers are urgently constructing and installing 110kV power poles.
Under hot weather, workers wear seat belts, cautiously moving between tens of meters high steel frames to install bolts and connect components. Above, the sound of hammer and machinery continuously echoes in the vast space of the construction site. Underground, many workers continuously coordinate to transport materials, inspect and assemble, and paint the components of the power pole before bringing them up high.

According to workers, each high-altitude working shift usually lasts about 4 consecutive hours, so living and eating encounter many difficulties. To have drinking water during work, workers below will tie water bottles to wires and then use poles to pull them up to the high-altitude construction locations for colleagues. Besides, throughout the working time, workers are almost unable to move much, having to cling to narrow steel bars to both maintain balance and perform technical operations.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - a construction worker at the construction site - said: "This year's holiday, the brothers are still working normally to ensure progress. Working on high is quite hard, especially on hot sunny days, but everyone tries to complete the work safely.
According to Mr. Hoa, the work at height requires absolute concentration because even a small mistake can be dangerous. Before going to the pole, workers must carefully check protective equipment, seat belts and strictly comply with technical procedures.

Another worker shared: "Working on power poles, the most stressful thing is to maintain balance for a long time. Many days standing on high continuously for several hours, people are very tired, but brothers encourage each other to try to complete the project soon.
The 110kV power line when completed will help enhance power transmission capacity and meet electricity demand, serving socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province.
