In the afternoon of September 7, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the exhibition project at the Truong Sa Museum.
According to the Project to build the Truong Sa Museum approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the exhibition space includes the introduction part, 5 main themes and the conclusion part.
The topics focus on introducing Truong Sa nature; strategic stature; history; vitality of Truong Sa; and at the same time clarifying the role of Truong Sa as an economic, cultural, and social center at sea of the whole country.
In addition to the indoor display space, the Project also has Truong Sa Museum Park, associated with the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area.
To serve the display, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum surveyed and created 1,154 lists of documents and artifacts.
Of which, 426 lists of documents and images have been transferred by some units in the form of digital data; the remaining 728 lists have not been transferred.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests to continue to mobilize organizations and individuals who are storing documents and artifacts related to Truong Sa to transfer or donate them for research and display.
According to the proposal, the province will implement the Project "Research and collection of documents and artifacts for display at the Truong Sa Museum", and at the same time implement a project to research, develop content and design, and construct the exhibition. The total estimated cost for the research, development of content and design, and construction of the exhibition is about 150 billion VND.
Documents and artifacts are oriented to be displayed quite diversely, from films, videos, images, maps, diagrams, geological samples, corals, organisms, plants to historical, legal, press documents and artifacts associated with life, labor, production, construction and sovereignty protection in Truong Sa.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Ha emphasized that the Truong Sa Museum is a national-scale project, so the exhibited documents and artifacts must be valuable, selected, verified and scientifically organized.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province to urgently complete the project, which focuses on preparing contents related to collecting and receiving documents and artifacts to serve the display at the Truong Sa Museum and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee according to the progress.
Second, develop a plan to organize a launching ceremony, calling on agencies, units, organizations and individuals across the country to respond to donating documents and artifacts about Truong Sa to the museum.
This is an important source of materials for the Department to supplement the research and development of exhibition content, design plans and organization of exhibition spaces for artifacts and documents of the Truong Sa Museum.
These contents need to be prepared synchronously with the completion progress of the Truong Sa Museum project so that when the project is completed, it can be put into operation, serving people and tourists.
On April 29, 2026, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee started construction of the Truong Sa Museum in Cam Lam commune, on an area of about 1.7ha, with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND sponsored by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028.
When completed, the Truong Sa Museum will connect with the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area, contributing to the formation of a complex of cultural and historical works, preserving and introducing values about history, culture, life and the process of fighting to protect Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty.
