On the evening of May 30, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2026, co-organized by the Da Nang City People's Committee and Sun Group, officially opened in the emotional explosion of tens of thousands of spectators before the eye-catching competition of the two fireworks teams Da Nang (Vietnam) and the defending champion China.
Considered a specialty of every DIFF season, the fireworks displays competing in the opening night continued to show international đẳng cấp. Exploiting the theme "Nature", but the two teams chose two completely different ways of telling stories in the sky of Da Nang.
The Da Nang team opened with a story about the beauty of Vietnamese nature, from rich heritage regions to messages about environmental protection and a green future. Meanwhile, the Chinese team continued to show the class of the defending champion with the performance "Flower of the Orient".
The Chinese team showed off their strengths in staging techniques, the ability to synchronize fireworks with top-notch music and high-quality smokeless firework effects. The flexible, dense layers of fireworks, constantly changing shape and color, have turned the Han River sky into a mesmerizing Eastern painting.
In particular, the appearance of the song "Viet Nam Tinh Hoa" in the performance created a surprising highlight. The familiar Vietnamese sound echoed like a warm greeting from the team. The performance received strong applause from the audience and left the first strong impressions for DIFF 2026.
After the opening night, the next matches will take place on Saturday evenings every week.
June 6. 6 French teams will compete with Z121 Vina Pyrotech, Vietnam with the theme Heritage; June 13. 6 Japanese and Italian teams with the theme Culture; June 20, Germany and Macau (China) with the theme Creativity; June 27. 6 Australian and Portuguese teams with the theme Vision. The final night will take place on July 11.
