According to the female artist, negative content is not only aimed at her personally but also affects the reputation and general activities of the troupe and many colleagues.
Many people attacked Huynh Long's troupe with many inappropriate words. They also asked not to let the troupe perform. However, the troupe still has many admiring fans.
This attack affects work and insults many artists in the troupe. I have sent a petition to functional agencies and the police are considering and handling it," Binh Tinh said.
The female artist said that she is focusing on protecting the honor of the troupe and members.
According to the reporter's investigation, the incident of Binh Tinh's classical opera troupe being attacked is partly due to the female artist being involved in a scandal with 2 individuals named M.T and X.M. Among them, these 2 people continuously accused her of borrowing billions of dong and many other negative information. This also subtly dragged a part of the supporters of these 2 individuals into attacking Binh Tinh and her Huynh Long troupe.
Currently, according to reporters' sources, the police have received a report from Binh Tinh accusing these 2 individuals M.T and X.M.
The Huynh Long classical opera troupe is one of the oldest classical opera troupes in Ho Chi Minh City, and also an artistic sign associated with many generations of the Huynh Long family.
The predecessor of the troupe was Chanh Thanh Hat Boi troupe, founded by boss Bay Huynh and his wife, artist Ngoc Huong. The troupe used to operate at Nhon Hoa communal house, Cau Muoi area, Saigon, around the 1940s-1950s.
In the 1960s-1970s, the family switched to performing Ho Quang. After 1975, Mrs. Bay Huynh applied for permission to establish the Huynh Long Tuong Co Troupe, continuing to develop the stage genre combining Cai Luong, Hat Boi and Ho Quang.
Many artists from the family have been associated with this sign such as Bach Mai, Thanh Bach, Kim Phuong, Bach Nga, Thanh Chau, Duc Loi, Chinh Nhan and Binh Tinh.
Among them, playwright Bach Mai is considered one of the people who created a prominent artistic mark for the troupe. She took on many roles such as actress, director and scriptwriter.
Huynh Long's plays mainly exploit ancient costumes, history and folk themes. The characteristic of the troupe is the combination of Cai Luong singing with dance, martial arts, elaborate costumes and elements of Hat Boi and Ho Quang.
After a period of interrupted operation, around 2015, Binh Tinh - daughter of playwright Bach Mai and artist Duc Loi - stood up to restore the Huynh Long sign.
