On January 30 (Korean time), YG Entertainment announced the first stylish photo series for their 3rd mini-album called "Deadline".
The photo set was made in black and white style, focusing on close-up frames of four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. Without using elaborate backgrounds, the series of photos impresses thanks to the cold demeanor, sharp eyes and powerful inner expressions of each member. This minimalist but luxurious style is considered suitable for the mature image that Blackpink is building in the current period.
Immediately after being announced, the photo set quickly spread on social networks and received many positive feedbacks from the audience. Many opinions believe that the spirit of the members is increasingly mature, clearly showing the position of one of the leading K-pop girl groups.
Previously, Blackpink just closed the 7-month journey of the world tour "Deadline" with the final nights in Hong Kong (China). The tour went through many countries and territories, attracting millions of viewers, continuing to affirm the group's global appeal.
According to an announcement from YG Entertainment, the mini-album "Deadline" will be officially released on February 27 at 0:00 AM (Eastern US time). This is Blackpink's first new music product after a long time focusing on touring and personal projects. Although the song list has not been announced, the concept photo series shows that the group is likely to pursue a more mature and profound musical color than previous products.
