On the morning of January 29 (the first day of Tet), the box office opened the first screenings for Tet films.
Tran Thanh's film "The Four Protectors" sold about 100,000 tickets, officially becoming the Vietnamese Tet film with the highest number of tickets sold this year (as of the morning of January 29).
This record of the film "The Four Protectors" far surpassed other Tet films shown at the same time such as Thu Trang's "Billionaire Kiss" which sold more than 4,000 tickets, and Nguyen Quang Dung's "Love by Mistake" which sold nearly 1,700 tickets.
In terms of revenue and screenings, Tran Thanh's film "The Four Protectors" completely overwhelmed the other two Vietnamese Tet films.
The film "The Four Guardians" earned nearly 10 billion VND with more than 4,600 screenings on the morning of January 29 (according to Box Office Vietnam); "The Billion Dollar Kiss" earned nearly 400 million VND, more than 1,600 screenings; "Love by mistake with a best friend" earned about 160 million VND, nearly 1,200 screenings.
In the 2024 Tet film season, "The Four Guardians" has many advantages over the two films "The Billion Dollar Kiss" and "Love by mistake with a best friend" in terms of the number of screenings and media effects.
In terms of strength, in general, the 3 Tet films this year all have their own strengths and have a cast of famous stars participating. However, the fact that Tran Thanh's film has the highest number of pre-booked tickets shows that Tran Thanh's appeal is great.
The film "The Four Guardians" tells the story from Kieu's (Uyen An) perspective about the rather favorable life of her best friend Quynh Anh (Tieu Vy) - a country girl who lost her parents, living in the coastal area with her aunt Bon (Le Giang) and uncle Muoi Mot (Tran Thanh).Quynh Anh's life seemed "rosy" until she and her boyfriend Quoc Anh (Quoc Anh) moved in together as husband and wife.
After many years of living together, the relationship between Quoc Anh and Quynh Anh gradually became cold, lacking communication and understanding, putting both on the brink of breaking up.Thanks to Kieu's introduction, Quynh Anh went to see tarot fortuneteller Chet-Xi-Ca (played by Le Duong Bao Lam) for advice.
Chet-Xi-Ca predicted that the relationship between Quoc Anh and Quynh Anh was bleak.
However, the young couple's life is even more disrupted when the "quartet" Kieu, Uncle Muoi Mot, Aunt Bon and Chet-Xi-Ca continuously interfere and create "half-crying, half-laughing" situations. At the same time, Karen (Ky Duyen), a successful and charming woman, appears in Quoc Anh's life.Quoc Anh's feelings are gradually shaken, making Quynh Anh become more suspicious...
