HYBE is approaching the deadline for contract renewal for their key artists. The giant record label is about to renew its contracts with most of its male idol groups, such as BTS, Seventeen, TXT and ENHYPEN.
BTS has extended HYBE's contract with HYBE in 2023, but it is reported that the group's extension period may be shorter than the previous contract.
In the latest extension, HYBE did not disclose the deadline, making many believe that this is a temporary extension and the contract could expire in 2026 or 2027.
Seventeen has signed an early extension and will make a decision on the next contract in 2026. However, the military service of some members may slow down their renewal progress, while foreign members are expected to negotiate contracts in advance.
TXT is aiming for its first contract extension in 2026, and ENHYPEN - the youngest of the four groups - will face its first extension in 2027.
With HYBE's big boy bands about to extend their contracts, netizens are arguing.
In it, many viewers advised: "BTS should leave and create the music they want under their own brand."
"After seeing what HYBE did with NewJeans, I think BTS should leave to develop" - one viewer commented.
"BTS should leave and take their own path, even if some members choose to stay. Hope to be able to escape HYBE safely" - the audience commented.
Others commented: "BTS and Seventeen are still uncertain, but TXT and ENHYPEN may stay. They have not completely established a solo career and according to an artist's perspective, there is no reason not to renew - even if they disappoint fans".
