Committing to community health
Doctor Nguyen Chi Ngoc, Deputy Head of the General Surgery Department - Quang Ninh District General Hospital, is one of the active members of the Quang Ninh District Young Physicians Club. He and his colleagues have organized many medical examinations, treatments and distributed free medicine to people in remote areas, the poor, policy families and children in difficult circumstances.
"We don't just come to see a doctor, but also to listen, to understand the difficulties that people are facing every day, sometimes, just a medicine, a word of encouragement is enough for them to have more faith in life", Dr. Ngoc shared.

The meaningful activities implemented by him and his colleagues include a humanitarian medical examination program in Hai Ninh commune, Xuan Ninh commune and "Tet for the poor" campaigns in Truong Xuan commune, Truong Son.
Doctor Ngoc constantly studies to improve his professional qualifications, contributing to innovation and improving the quality of health care for the people. He confided: "I always believe that a doctor not only cures diseases but also needs to understand his patients. That is the reason why I always try to improve my expertise and spend time close to and share with them".
Giving is forever
As Secretary of the General Hospital Youth Union, Chairman of the Quang Ninh District Young Physicians Club, Doctor Pham Van Vuong not only completed his professional tasks well but was also a pioneer in volunteer activities.
He and the District Young Physicians Club have organized many programs to provide free medical examination and medicine to students in disadvantaged areas, policy households, war invalids, sick soldiers, and Vietnamese heroic mothers. Every year, the club organizes volunteer medical examination and health consultation campaigns for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas and border areas.

"Every time I set foot in remote areas, witnessing the deprivation of the people, I find my work more meaningful than ever," Dr. Vuong confided.
Dr. Vuong still maintains the "Love kitchen" at the Nutrition Department of Quang Ninh District General Hospital. The kitchen has supported 10 free meals for each poor patient during a treatment period, and called on organizations and individuals to give gifts, distribute free meals, and congee on weekends, holidays, and Tet.
Or Dr. Pham Thi Hanh Trang, working at the Department of Traditional Medicine - Rehabilitation of Quang Binh District General Hospital, is a shining example of kindness. She has donated blood 25 times and since 2018 has registered to donate tissues and organs with the desire to help others even when she is no longer around.
"I always think that if I can give, this life will be more meaningful. Donating blood and organs is one of the important decisions, because it can bring life and hope to those waiting, Dr. Trang shared.

With his contributions, Dr. Trang was recently honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Quang Binh Provincial Red Cross Society, recognizing his persistent efforts for the community.
Young doctors at Quang Ninh District General Hospital not only contribute professionally but also spread the spirit of volunteerism, helping thousands of people access free medical services. They have turned kindness into concrete actions, contributing to building a healthy and connected community.
"Seeing a patient being treated, a family being less burdened, that is our greatest joy," Dr. Vuong shared.
