The final episode of "Ngã đích sơn dữ hải" (Temporary translation: My Mountains and Sea) starring Dam Tung Van caused fierce controversy when it aired. The 30-episode TV series of CCTV on the topic of startups closed with an ending that shocked, surprised and difficult to explain to many viewers.
Many people hoped for a happy ending for the female lead, but instead there was disappointment and a series of complaints about the plot.
The character development in the final episode is clearly illogical. Except for Phuong Uyen Chi's adoptive father - Manh Tu Nguyen, other characters all have an unbelievably perfect ending. Meanwhile, the most kind person, who deserves happiness, has to leave forever.

Phuong Uyen Chi, the female lead played by Dam Tung Van, achieved success in her career when her company listed shares and adopted a daughter named Dieu Dieu, seemingly balancing both family happiness and career.
Conversely, Manh Tu Nguyen - the most sincere and devoted foster father - did not have the opportunity to enjoy the joy with his daughter.
He passed away due to cancer, and Phuong Uyen Chi did not have time to know his medical condition. This contrast made many viewers both heartbroken and angry.
The group of characters in Shenxing Dao also encountered an unreasonable ending. Phuong Uyen Chi's father and sister lived peacefully, and all three grandsons were successful thanks to her help. While her biological father abandoned her - Ha Vinh Vuong, after many years of imprisonment, when he arrived in Shenzhen, was cured of his illness and had a stable life, becoming a model father.

The love of Cao Tương and Lý Hoa is also depicted nobly, but in reality it seems unlikely to happen. All other characters have happy endings, except for Mạnh Tư Nguyên - the model of an honest and unconditionally loving father - who died of illness.
Manh Tu Nguyen is an honest and devoted civil servant to his adopted daughter Uyen Chi. When Uyen Chi stubbornly dropped out of school to start a business, he did not stop her but secretly supported her, many times taking trains thousands of kilometers late to Shenzhen to visit her, regardless of fatigue and deprivation, just to protect and encourage her.
The scenes of him dozing off on a crowded train, with only a glass of water and half a pack of instant noodles in front of him, left a deep impression and moved the audience.
But the screenwriter chose to let this character die of cancer as soon as Phuong Uyen Chi needed him most, while other characters, including those who had been wrong, had a happy ending. This injustice angered many viewers and raised questions about the ethical value in the script.
Viewers usually watch TV dramas to seek comfort, and even if they don't need a perfect ending, at least it should follow the principle "doing good will be rewarded".
Manh Tu Nguyen and Principal Phuong are kind and altruistic people, who have devoted their love and sacrifice to Uyen Chi, but in the end, neither of them has a peaceful old age. On the contrary, the characters who do wrong are repentant and enjoy happiness.
Vuong Kim Tong's acting is the only bright spot, fully showing the gentleness, patience and inner depth of the character Manh Tu Nguyen, especially in the scenes where he is exhausted on the blue train, making the audience unable to hold back tears. However, even excellent acting cannot save this unreasonable plot.
