On May 19, information from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that the unit has just approved an investment project to build the project: Conservation and reinforcement of Hon Vong Phu relic in the An Hoach Mountain Monument and Scenic Landscape Complex (Nhon Mountain), An Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City.

The total investment for the project is 17 billion VND from the provincial budget. Completion time before December 31, 2025.
Accordingly, the proposed solution to ensure that the stone blocks of Hon Vong Phu are not disjointed is to use a core drilling method, then reinforced with steel wires inserted with Sika Grout 214-11 mortar, reinforced along the vertical axis.
When pumping Sika mortar, the mortar will insert into the cracks on the drill wall, surrounding the D14 steel wires, creating strong, traction-resistant and compression-resistant connections, to prevent the cracks from developing, connecting the disjointed elements of the stone block into a unified, sturdy object.
The construction unit will use reinforced anchors including three D14 steel bars, the type of CB500-V steel (500 MPa's limited intensity), with the tensile capacity of each bundle of steel is 21.47 tons (Zb = 21.47 tons). The three steel bars are attached to each other (400 mm away from a weld), the steel bundle is placed in the D76 core drilling pipe, originating from the top of the rock and anchored deep into the base.
To ensure the separation of rock patches around the surface of Hon Vong Phu, the construction unit used Sika Grout 214-11 mortar to pump all cracks. Before patching, clean the contact surfaces at locations with cracks.
After completing the drilling and construction of the connecting anchor system, the scaffolding from the top will be dismantled, and the foam and steel luoi wrapped around each layer 1.0 m thick will be removed. Finally, re-check the surrounding stone blocks; if new cracks are discovered, they will continue to be pumping according to the original treatment process.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the Hon Vong Phu national relic is at risk of collapsing at any time after being repeatedly hit by lightning.
The last time lightning hit was on June 15, 2022, causing a large rock to collapse. Faced with this situation, at the end of 2023, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province organized a scientific workshop to assess the current situation and propose solutions to preserve Hon Vong Phu relic.
At the workshop, many experts and scientists consulted to choose the most optimal and feasible conservation solution.
By mid-2024, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City had invested in a lightning protection system at Hon Vong Phu relic, with a total cost of more than 800 million VND.
