The urgency of the campaign
At the end of September, L.V.D.L - from Nghe An, currently a student at a university in Hanoi, reported to the police that after a period of crisis, L was psychologically manipulated by a group of strangers.
It all started when L received a call from a strange number, on the other end of the line pretending to be a "shipper" to deliver packages containing money and drugs. Immediately afterwards, the group impersonated police officers, asked L to participate in a " chat room" on Zoom, and accused L of being involved in a money laundering ring. If L wanted to prove his innocence and not be involved in the incident, he had to transfer the money to the group of subjects.
This story is just one of a series of serious incidents that have occurred consecutively in recent times. Many sophisticated scams and forms of fraud in cyberspace are targeting children, adolescents, and students.
Responding to Lao Dong reporter, Dr. Vu Thu Huong - an education expert, former lecturer at Hanoi National University of Education, analyzed, "The world of the Internet and social networks is becoming more and more dangerous, as electronic devices have become an indispensable part of the lives of children and adolescents today. The urgency of the times has required a national campaign to raise social awareness of online safety, especially conveying the message that the whole society and the whole country will accompany and join hands to protect children and adolescents, so that they are "not alone" against scams in the digital space.
The Not alone campaign was established, led and organized by the Digital Trust Alliance. The signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime - Sharing Responsibility - Towards the Future, scheduled to be held on October 25-26, will be an important occasion for Vietnam to demonstrate its responsibility and pioneering role in online efforts to protect vulnerable groups, especially children and adolescents.

The beauty queen shared: "Faced with traps spreading all over digital platforms, I was worried that young people were being attacked from many sides. This is a burning issue that requires the cooperation of the whole society. We all need to work together to protect children, students, and young people who are still immature in the complex world of social networks.
According to Miss Bao Ngoc, the fanpage of the Digital Trust Alliance hopes to join hands to build a community of parents, students, and schools to accompany and protect children in the online environment.
