Digital transformation connects the beauty of the great forest with the blue sea

Lam Dong is entering a new stage of tourism development, where digital transformation is not only a supporting tool but also becomes a bridge to help tourists explore the three typical pieces: thousands of flowers, blue sea and great forests.

The combination of the plateau, forest and sea has created a rare tourism picture on the map of Vietnam. In the context of rapidly changing tourism, natural advantages alone are not enough. Digital transformation is becoming an inevitable requirement to elevate the tourism industry after 51 years of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

No longer stopping at promoting traditions, Lam Dong is restructuring the way tourism is being done with technology. Digital platforms are gradually appearing at destinations, helping tourists look up information, book services and explore space in a more visual way.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province - said that one of the highlights of tourism digitization is the application of VR360 virtual reality technology. With just one mobile device, visitors can "test" the destination before setting foot. Forests, beaches or flower gardens are vividly recreated, helping the journey of discovery start right from the digital space.

Along with that, multilingual virtual tour assistant projects are being completed. When put into operation, this system can support international tourists to search for information, suggest itinerary, and even interact in real time. This is considered an important step to improve service capacity and expand the visitor market.

In the field of heritage, technology is also changing the approach. The 3D virtual museum model is maintained effectively, attracting an average of 1,000 to 1,500 visits per day. The display space is no longer limited by physical area, but expands in a digital environment, allowing the public to access artifacts anytime, anywhere.

At the same time, the QR code system and automatic explanation are widely deployed at attractions and relics. Just scan the code, visitors can listen to explanations, view images, and read detailed information in many languages. The experience becomes more proactive, flexible and personalized.

The digitization of artifacts has also been accelerated. To date, nearly 6,000 artifacts have been digitized in dossiers, and more than 250 artifacts have been built into 3D models for display and exhibition. This is not only a way to preserve heritage but also a new storytelling method, helping history become more vivid and closer to the public.

In Mui Ne ward, the private museum model also catches up with this trend. Mui Ne Antiquities Museum has digitized artifacts, expanding the display space to a digital environment. According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An - Owner of the Museum, digitization helps overcome area limitations, while creating conditions to integrate new technologies such as artificial intelligence, diverse languages, bringing modern experiences to visitors.

Deputy Director of the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Vo Thi Hoang Yen said that the construction of a smart tourism ecosystem is being promoted. Information platforms, tourism gateways, and communication systems are being reviewed and consolidated in a synchronous and interconnected direction. The goal is to create a unified "digital map" where data is connected and exploited effectively.

In 2026, Lam Dong aims to synchronously deploy a smart tourism information system, develop digital platforms to serve tourists, businesses and management agencies. The focus is on integrating data and applying VR360 at key destinations, gradually completing the digital tourism ecosystem.

Notably, artificial intelligence technology will be integrated on mobile platforms and social networks. This not only helps provide faster information but also increases the ability to interact and personalize experiences for each visitor.

Digital transformation also opens up great opportunities in promoting and advertising tourism. Communication campaigns can reach the right audience, at the right time, with appropriate content. Tourists not only "watch" but also "experiment" before deciding their journey.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested the tourism industry to continue to promote investment attraction in the tourism sector associated with digital transformation. At the same time, assigned relevant units to build a tourism database, consolidate existing platforms into a smart system, ensuring intercommunication and convenience in management.

The three pieces of "Thousand Flowers - Blue Sea - Great Forest" are now connected not only by transport infrastructure, but also by digital infrastructure. As technology penetrates deeper into each experience, visitors' journeys become more seamless, from understanding, planning to discovery and sharing.

Digital transformation does not lose the natural beauty of Lam Dong, but helps those values to be retold in a new, more visual, more vivid and closer way. This is the foundation for Lam Dong tourism to continue to break through, towards the goal of sustainable development in the coming period.
