On February 13, the Seoul High Court ruled partially in favor of Victory Contents - the company that produced the movie "River where the moon rises" - in the lawsuit demanding compensation for damages against Jisoo's former management company - Keyeast Entertainment.
The court ordered Keyeast to pay 880 million won (about 15.8 billion VND) plus late payment interest.
Although the compensation amount has decreased from about 1.42 billion won ruled in the first court hearing, the appellate court still upheld the ruling requiring this agency to compensate for damages.
In March 2021, after the 6 episodes of "River where the moon rises" were broadcast on KBS, allegations of school violence by Jisoo, who played the male lead On Dal, arose.
As the scandal escalated, the actor admitted part of the allegations and voluntarily withdrew from the film.

At that time, 18 out of 20 planned episodes had been filmed. The production team had to urgently replace him with actor Na In Woo starting from episode 7 and reshoot many scenes from episodes 1 to 6.
According to the production company, this unprecedented replacement of the main actor has led to significant financial losses due to arising production costs (personnel costs, location, equipment, actor fees...) and delays in schedules.
Initially, Victory Contents requested compensation of about 3 billion won, including the cost of filming the scene. The court finally accepted part of this request.
This ruling once again emphasizes the widespread impact that personal disputes related to actors could have on the entire production process.
Industry experts believe that this decision is an important case clarifying the scope of contract risk management responsibilities in the entertainment sector.
Jisoo was born in 1993, officially debuted in 2015 with the TV series "Angry mom", and continued acting through many works such as "Moon lovers: Scarlet heart ryeo", "Strong woman Do Bong Soon", "When i was the most beautiful"...
While in active artistic activities, in 2021, he was involved in school violence rumors after a denunciation was posted on an online forum.
In 2023, the lawsuit against Jisoo, which prosecuted the first poster and commenter for defamation, led to a decision not to prosecute. In the same year, he said he had dispelled the misunderstanding with the initial accuser and affirmed that the sexual assault charges were untrue.
After the scandal, from 2023 to now, Jisoo mainly updates her life through personal social networks but still has no new film projects.
