Strengthening response to climate change
Climate change is affecting most parts of Vietnam - from mountainous, plain to coastal and urban areas. Every year, the whole country has to endure many storms, tropical depressions and unusual weather phenomena such as flash floods, droughts, high tides, landslides or salinity intrusion. These extreme developments not only cause damage to people and property but also reduce the living environment and ecosystem.
To respond to increasing challenges, Vietnam has made a commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050 at COP26, and issued a National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Playing the role of a "green wall", protective forests help reduce wind power, prevent floods, limit erosion and landslides, thereby minimizing damage to houses, infrastructure and property of people. Not only bringing environmental benefits, a representative of the Tan Giang - Thuan Nam Protective Forest Management Board said that afforestation also creates sustainable livelihoods for people, especially ethnic minorities who depend on forest resources. They are able to participate in forest protection, planting and care, thereby earning more income, improving their education and improving their lives. Because of these dual benefits, forest management and protection has always been a priority for localities over the years.
Technology platform turns daily habits into green actions
Along with the efforts of the Government and local agencies, the business sector is also actively contributing through many practical "green" programs.
Taking advantage of the strengths of technology and a multi-service ecosystem, platforms like Grab have been implementing many environmental protection initiatives, contributing to promoting green transformation, typically the Green-Stable program. Through cooperation with localities, professional organizations and user support, the program focuses on afforestation projects, energy saving and emission reduction.
In 2025, the voting-Green program will plant 100,000 trees in Da Nang and Khanh Hoa, through cooperation with local agencies and the Song Fund. The "green shoots" contributed by Grab users will contribute to greening about 18 hectares of Phu Ninh Lake Protection Forest (Da Nang), equivalent to 20,000 trees. In addition, the program also planted 80,000 more trees in the Tan Giang - Thuan Nam protection forest (Khanh Hoa).

That has prompted Grab to continue to promote and diversify activities in this field. In addition to afforestation, this year we have also implemented initiatives to reduce emissions and save energy. This is a testament to Grab's long-term efforts, as well as its commitment to accompanying agencies and communities to create a sustainable green future," he shared.
Grab users can join the program easily with just one touch in their daily Grab booking routine. Before booking the service, users can choose to activate the contribution feature for the Green Program, for only 2,000 VND per GrabCar trip, 1,000 VND per GrabBike trip or order GrabFood/GrabMart.
