In recent years, film cooperation between Vietnam and India has begun to develop strongly, opening up many new opportunities for the creative industry of the two countries.
Not only stopping at film production cooperation projects, cinema has also become a cultural bridge, bringing the image of the country, people and heritage of Vietnam closer to hundreds of millions of international audiences.
One of the most notable milestones is the project "Love in Vietnam" (Vietnamese title: "Van dam yeu em"). This is considered the first official cooperation film between Vietnam and India after 75 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
The work belongs to the psychological, romantic genre directed by Indian director Rahhat Shah Kazmi, with the participation of actors from both countries such as Kha Ngan, Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur.
The film tells the love story between an Indian boy and a Vietnamese girl, in which about 75% of the scenes are filmed in Vietnam, stretching from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Da Lat to Phu Quoc.
Not only attracting attention thanks to the combination of Southeast Asian and South Asian cultures, the work also achieved many international achievements when it won the "Best Film in Asia" and "Best Director in Asia" awards at the Seoul Global Movie Awards.
The film premiered in India in September 2025, released in Vietnam in early January 2026.

After "Love in Vietnam", many Bollywood film crews continue to choose Vietnam as a filming destination. Among them, "Silaa" is considered the next typical project.
The film is directed by Omung Kumar - who is famous for the work "Mary Kom" - with the participation of actors Harshvardhan Rane and Sadia Khateeb.
Silaa" belongs to the psychological and romantic genre combined with action, exploiting a love story with most of the setting being filmed in Vietnam, with a total budget of up to 4 million USD (more than 100 billion VND).
Notably, about 95% of the film's scenes are recorded at famous scenic spots such as Son Doong cave, Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Trang An scenic complex (Ninh Binh), expected to be released to audiences in the summer of 2026.
The choice of Vietnam by Bollywood filmmakers not only shows the attractiveness of the domestic natural landscape but also opens up tourism development potential through cinema.

Another special case is "Prem Ki Surdhara - Love Garden", an Indian film inspired directly by Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs - an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
In this work, Quan Ho melodies not only appear as musical elements but also become emotional axes throughout the story. This is considered the first time a traditional cultural value of Vietnam has played a central role in a Bollywood film.
Prem Ki Surdhara - Love Garden" also made a splash when it won the "Best International Film" award at the 8th Haryana International Film Festival in India.

According to the announced cooperation plans, in the coming time, Vietnam and India are expected to continue to implement more new projects, including comedy and action movies with scenes filmed at Son Doong cave.
Experts believe that the development of Vietnam-India film cooperation is not only of artistic significance but also contributes to promoting cultural exchange, tourism promotion and creating motivation for creative economy.
Through the big screen, the image of Vietnam is gradually becoming an attractive destination for international producers as well as global audiences.
