On the evening of May 22, Da Nang City People's Committee opened the program "22nd Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange, Da Nang 2026" at An Hoi Sculpture Garden, Hoi An Ward.

The Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival was initiated in 1998 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. From 2003 to now, the festival is held annually, becoming a typical foreign cultural activity, contributing to fostering friendship, strengthening cooperation and promoting deep connections between the two countries.
The Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Program has become a cultural bridge, contributing to vividly recreating the historical flow and attachment between the people of the two countries over many centuries.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi = Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee - said that this year's cultural exchange program takes place at a special time, with profound historical significance.
The Chùa Cầu relic - a symbolic work that has just been completed and restored with the cooperation of Japanese experts 2 years ago, along with the "Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Space" in the heart of the ancient town, is a vivid proof of the strong bond between the two countries.
Da Nang city in general, Hoi An in particular, has long been the gateway to welcoming vibrant economic and cultural exchanges with Japan. Currently, Japan is continuously a leading investor and strategic partner of Da Nang city.
Entering the 22nd time, the Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange event is not simply a festival activity, but has become a bridge to share traditional cultural values together, and at the same time jointly build the future" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said.

The program "22nd Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange, Da Nang 2026" has many unique activities such as: Experiencing the Vietnam - Japan cultural space; recreating the procession of Princess Ngoc Hoa and merchant Araki Sotaro; displaying books and photos about the history of Hoi An - Japan cultural exchange; traditional art performances, folk games and community exchanges.
