Bright spot in the first half of 2025
Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh assessed that 2025 is the last year to accelerate, make a breakthrough, and successfully complete the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
In the first 6 months of 2025, inheriting the results achieved in 2024, the entire sector has closely followed and implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, the Resolutions at regular Government meetings; focused on implementing the task of reviving and developing Vietnamese culture.
In particular, on June 26, 2025, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) solemnly successfully organized the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, term 2025-2030 with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Streamlining - Professional - Development", upholding the spirit of "Culture is the foundation - Information is the channel - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the bridge connecting".
Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh assessed this as a very important milestone, an encouragement, motivation, and determination for the entire Party Committee and the entire Sector to continue to strive, firmly moving into the new era of the nation; thereby continuing to gradually affirm the viewpoint of "Culture must determine the path for the nation to go", "Culture must be placed on par with economics, politics, and society".
In the first 6 months of 2025, cultural, sports and tourism work achieved important results, quite comprehensive in all fields and typical examples.
The Ministers and Deputy Ministers resolutely directed the dissemination, strict implementation, synchronous, drastic, effective and substantial implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; Resolutions and Conclusions of the Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government.
The work of building and perfecting institutions continues to be one of the tasks given top priority by the Ministry's leaders, spending a lot of time leading and directing at the Ministry's Law-making sessions.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Minister directed the development and promulgation of 25 legal documents under his authority.
According to Standing Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, big and oriented issues of the industry are determined to implement the specific implementation roadmap, directing the organization of implementation in the right direction, in accordance with the actual and specific situation such as: Completing the Government to report the feasibility study of the national target program on cultural development from 2025-2035, phase 1: From 2025 to 2030; Focusing on completion: The project of organizing the "Exhibition of socio -economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day 2. September 2, 1945 - 2.9.2025); Project" Internationalization of cultural culture of national identity, ethnicity of the world cultural elite "; coordinate with departments, branches and localities to organize activities to celebrate major holidays and important historical events in the three years of 2023 - 2025.
Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh commented that the tourism industry continues to be a bright spot in contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Tourism has grown impressively, with the total number of international visitors in the first 6 months of 2025 reaching more than 10.6 million, an increase of 20.7% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at about 518 trillion VND.
Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage have been effectively implemented; journalism, communication, and publishing have had many positive changes, the fight against bad and toxic information has been effectively implemented regularly and continuously with increasingly improved efficiency.
In addition, the mass sports movement has developed strongly; high-performance sports have improved. The cultural and entertainment industry has shown signs of positive development with many unique and creative products and cultural activities.
Cultural and foreign affairs work in the first 6 months of 2025 has many bright spots, changing thinking from "Meeting and exchanging" to "Authentic cooperation", many activities, programs, and cooperation documents on culture, sports and tourism were organized and signed during visits by senior leaders of the Party and State.
Regarding general direction and management, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Ministry issued 6,001 documents directing and operating in the fields of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The leaders of the Ministry chaired conferences, meetings, and worked to direct, manage, and handle important, necessary, and urgent tasks such as: legal topics on institution building and improvement; disbursement of public investment capital; arrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus and coordination with localities.
Accelerating the last 6 months of the year
Towards the last 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will implement a number of key tasks.
According to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, regarding the general tasks, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism focuses on organizing the effective implementation of the Government's resolutions on socio-economic development, improving the business environment, ensuring the growth target of over 8% in 2025, cutting administrative procedures and simplifying production and business processes.
At the same time, deploy the Prime Minister's two telegrams on reviewing and reducing administrative procedures; developing projects, draft laws, and legal documents according to the plan; guiding the implementation of decentralization in the organization of local government.
Continue to promote digital transformation, innovation, administrative reform, implement Project 06 and promote the application of digital technology in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism.
Deploying major programs and projects such as cultural development in the period of 2025-2035, internationalization of Vietnamese culture, developing cultural industry and entertainment industry.
Notably, the Ministry will focus on directing and successfully organizing the National Achievements Exhibition and events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the August Revolution, including the parade, cultural and artistic programs and entertainment to spread patriotism, development aspirations and national unity.
