The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs localities in the North Central region to strengthen management, protection, and promotion of the value of relics and scenic spots after the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper.

According to document No. 2895/BVHTTDL-DSVH dated June 20 of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) Hoang Dao Cuong sent to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the People's Committee of Hue city and the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Many relics were damaged, becoming victims" reflecting the situation of encroachment on some relics in these localities.

Implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh in Official Dispatch No. 4729/VPCP-KGVX dated May 28, 2025 of the Government Office on grasping information, promptly having appropriate handling solutions according to authority, ensuring effective management, protection and promotion of the value of heritages and relics nationwide. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Hue, and Ninh Binh provinces and cities to direct competent authorities and local authorities to strengthen management, protection, and promotion of the value of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots.

Localities are required to comply with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage and international treaties in the UNESCO Conventions that Vietnam has signed regarding world cultural and natural heritage.

Strictly implement the 2024 Cultural Heritage Law and guiding documents for implementation; directives of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on strengthening state management of a number of cultural and artistic activities, festivals, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, restoration and tourism development; works on strengthening management of conservation, preservation, restoration, restoration and promotion of the value of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots.

Review all relics that have been inventoried and ranked in the area, ensuring that there must be organizations and representatives directly responsible for managing, protecting and look after the relic.

The People's Committees of provinces and cities direct the strengthening of management, security, safety of relics and relic sites as well as management of relics in the area; proactively develop a prevention plan, detect early and be ready to prevent and handle acts of aggression and sabotage.

At the same time, promote propaganda and education to raise awareness and appreciation of relic protection in the community.

Localities need to prepare well the conditions (finance, human resources, databases, etc.) to ensure decentralized state management activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage in general and relics in particular.

The project has a plan to organize the implementation of the Law on Cultural Heritage to ensure timeliness, unity and effectiveness.

Organize propaganda, dissemination, and training for cadres working in the management of sectors and fields under the regulation of the Law on Cultural Heritage of localities, people, and enterprises on new regulations of the Law and documents detailing the implementation of the Law.

Guiding and directing local news agencies, newspapers and magazines to have a plan to widely disseminate the Law on Cultural Heritage and documents detailing the implementation of the Law.
