At the Conference to deploy tasks for 2026 (January 15) organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) of Dien Bien.
Mr. Tran Hai Ha - Acting Director of Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that in 2025, the number of tourists to the province reached over 1.454 million; total revenue from tourism activities reached over 2,645 billion VND.
Department leaders also said that to achieve impressive figures, the province has successfully organized a series of cultural and tourism events of national and international stature.

Notably, the 2025 Ban Flower Festival associated with the 8th Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ethnic Groups in the province. In addition, the 2025 Northwest - Dien Bien Essence Festival and the 9th Vietnam - Laos - China Spring Festival also created great attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, in 2026 the province strives for the GRDP growth target for the whole year to reach 10.5% or more.
Specifically for the key economic sector, tourism, the province focuses on implementing solutions to achieve the goal of welcoming over 1.6 million visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching over 2,880 billion VND.

In 2026, Dien Bien will focus resources on accelerating the progress of key projects such as: Preserving and restoring the Dien Bien Phu Group Headquarters Center; Building the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and investing in additional items at Hill E2 Relic; Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield (phase II).

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to direct the implementation of tourism development projects in the Sin Thau - A Pa Chai area; Pu Nhi terraced field tourism spot; Huoi Nha community tourism villages (Muong Pon), Long village (Quai To), Che Can (Muong Phang).
On this occasion, 3 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 collectives and 9 individuals; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 14 individuals.
