Gongs passed down through generations
On June 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that, continuing the "Weekend Gong - Enjoy & Experience" programs, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2026) to contribute to honoring the good values of families in preserving and promoting national cultural heritage.
From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the green grass stage of Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku ward, Gia Lai province, 40 Jrai artisans from the Pleiku Roh gong and chieng troupe, Dien Hong ward.
A special feature of the Pleiku Roh gong and chieng troupe is the presence of many generations of artisans participating in activities and performances.
From experienced senior artisans who deeply understand customs and habits to young artisans who are continuing traditions, all have created a strong bond in the journey of preserving heritage.
In the team, there are many families participating in cultural activities, with generations of fathers and children, brothers and sisters performing gongs, singing folk songs and teaching skills to the next generation.
This is a vivid proof of the sustainable vitality of the gong cultural heritage in community life, while affirming the important role of the family in preserving and transmitting the traditional cultural values of the Jrai people.
The Pleiku Roh gong and chieng team, Dien Hong ward is one of the typical collectives in the work of preserving, maintaining and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Jrai people in the area.

Participating in the "Gong Weekend - Enjoy & Experience" program not only contributes to improving the operational efficiency of the gong team but also creates opportunities for artisans to exchange and promote the unique cultural beauty of the nation to a large number of people and tourists.
Performances imbued with the great forest
During the performance night, artisans will introduce to the public and tourists many special performances, imbued with the traditional cultural identity of the Jrai people such as gong performances with the songs Greetings, Po Thi Festival, Celebrating Victory; folk musical instrument symphony of the song Echoes of the Great Forest.
Solo playing stone lute in the Central Highlands to greet the sun; performing Jrai folk tunes through the songs "Ngay hoi tu", "Doi anh ve" (Waiting for you to return) and singing the folk song "Ruoc nuoc ve lang" (Bringing water to the village).
In addition to cultural and artistic performances, the program also organizes exchange activities, guiding tourists to learn about and experience the gong and chieng cultural space, traditional musical instruments, and enjoy typical local cuisine.
The program "Weekend Gong - Enjoy & Experience" held on Saturday evenings every week is a meaningful cultural activity to preserve, promote and promote the unique values of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space in Gia Lai province.
Action program according to Plan No. 78/KH-UBND dated February 24, 2026 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Project on Preserving and Promoting the Value of Gia Lai Provincial Gong Cultural Space Heritage in 2026.
At the same time, the program contributes to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people, serving tourists within the framework of Gia Lai National Tourism Year 2026.
