On May 20, news from the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that from the beginning of 2026, the unit has coordinated with localities to implement the "Weekend Gong - Enjoying and Experiencing" Program, aiming to preserve and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space as committed to UNESCO.
The program is held periodically from 7 pm to 9 pm every Saturday evening and important holidays and events, lasting from March to the end of December 2026 at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku ward, Gia Lai province.
Participating in the program are ethnic minority artisan groups such as Bahnar, Jrai, Cham Hroi, H're... from many localities in the province.

Here, people and tourists will enjoy many unique activities such as introducing traditional culture of ethnic groups, performing gongs, folk instruments, folk songs, folk dances, recreating community cultural living space.
In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to exchange, experience gong playing, learn about traditional musical instruments and typical rituals of the Central Highlands people.
The highlight of the program on the evening of May 23rd, 2026 is the performance of the Jrai artisan team from Cho Ma hamlet, Ia Pa commune with instrumental performances of folk musical instruments such as tơ rưng, stone lute, percussion instruments through the works "Người đi gieo giống", "Cô gái vót chông", "Em đẹp như hoa Pơ Lang".
Besides, there are performances of ancient gongs, a rap gongs, Kram bamboo gongs, folk songs and circle exchanges.
Weekend Gongs - Enjoy and Experience" not only contributes to preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of Gia Lai but is also an attractive destination to serve tourists during the Gia Lai National Tourism Year 2026.
