The movie "That Moment Beyond Limits" starring Truong Lang Hach and Vuong So Nhien has just had to replace the entire opening after facing a wave of criticism for using images created by artificial intelligence (AI).
Recently, the official Weibo account of the film crew "That Moment Beyond Limits" posted a notice admitting that the use of AI for the opening was a shortcoming in the production process. The crew said they have completed a new version with real actors and updated it on broadcast platforms.
Airing from July 19, the movie "That Moment Beyond Limits" quickly attracted attention. However, instead of content, the opening part became a controversial topic.
Many viewers commented that the images feel "smell AI", the characters are unnatural, the lines are stiff, the lighting effects are fake, and even compare the film to a "PowerPoint presentation".
Many opinions believe that the use of AI makes the film look less meticulous and lacks investment compared to the scale of a large project.
In the apology announcement, the film crew said that the initial idea was to use a fast-paced opening to introduce the relationship between the two main characters, and also insert some important details for later episodes. However, the final result created a negative reaction beyond expectations.
The crew said that immediately after receiving feedback from the first broadcast day, the entire team worked overnight to edit.
After many days of completion, the new opening version with real actors has officially replaced the old version. The film crew affirmed that the audience's experience is always the top priority and all feedback is the motivation to complete the work.
That Moment Beyond Limits" is adapted from the novel "If That Moment I Couldn't Have Met You" by writer Fei Nga Tu Ton, telling the tragic love story between Mu Rong Thanh Dich (Zhang Linghe) and Ren Su Su (Wang Churan).
Chinese media believes that the use of AI images right at the beginning has created a large gap between audience expectations and actual quality.
Accordingly, when technology cannot replace emotions and authenticity in art, abusing AI can reduce the viewer's experience and affect the image of the film itself.
