According to Ms. Phan Kim Oanh - National Director of Miss Eco Vietnam 2026, and Chairwoman of Miss Multicultural World, the Vietnamese team decided to terminate all cooperation and franchising with the Miss Eco International system.
The Vietnamese team said that the delegation had completed all legal documents, permits as well as necessary procedures before departing to participate in the competition in Egypt from May 13 to 23. However, right from the entry process, the delegation encountered many problems.
According to Ms. Phan Kim Oanh, even though a visa was issued, the organizing committee still requested to pay an additional 100 USD on the grounds of "supporting the priority list for visa issuance". When arriving at Cairo airport, the Vietnamese delegation also did not have a representative of the organizing committee to pick them up, but had to contact the means of transportation themselves and pay the hotel costs themselves.
Not only that, the Vietnamese team also reflected that the accommodation conditions were far from the initial commitments. The group of 4 people was arranged in cramped rooms, incurring many additional fees such as security fees, service fees, insurance fees and a deposit of 200 USD, but has not been refunded to date.
Throughout the competition journey, the Vietnamese side said that the coordination was unprofessional when there was no clear schedule, no official announcement group, and international delegations had to update information themselves. Many outdoor activities took place in 40-42 degrees Celsius weather but there was no commensurate logistical preparation.
The peak of controversy lies in the voting results. Before the final, the organizers announced that the contestant with the highest number of votes would be specially admitted to the Top 10. The representative of Vietnam was confirmed as the winner of this category and the contest's fanpage also posted a congratulatory message.
However, in the final night, the results were suddenly changed due to "system errors", "technical errors" or "typing errors". Related posts were then edited or removed from the fanpage, causing a stir in the international beauty fan community.
After Nguyen Thi Thu Truc directly questioned the organizers right on the final stage, the incident attracted even more attention on social networks.
Many international audiences expressed disappointment with the organizers' handling, saying that the contest was not transparent and lacked professionalism.
Many comments on international beauty forums even called this year's season a "cooking show" (a sarcastic term for a less professional program) instead of a serious beauty arena.
In addition, the organizers' announcement of stripping the Miss Eco Asia title of the Vietnamese representative continued to cause a wave of widespread reaction.
In the latest announcement, the Vietnamese team affirmed that there is no act of bribery or interest agreement related to the contest participation process.
The continuous noises after the final are significantly affecting the reputation of Miss Eco International in the eyes of the international beauty fan community.
