On August 21, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province announced that it had issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), with a total estimated cost of 19.5 billion VND.
In August 2025, the province will organize visits and gifts (worth 3.5 million VND/gift) to revolutionary veterans, pre-upgrade cadres and families of people with outstanding merits.
The main activities include: Flower offering ceremony for the Nguyen Sinh Sac Monument - Nguyen Tat Thanh and visiting the Quy Nhon Martyrs' Cemetery (7am on August 28); Flower offering ceremony, incense offering for President Ho Chi Minh at Dai Doan Ket Square and visiting the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery (7am on August 29). At 8:00 p.m. on September 2, the province will organize a special art program and high-altitude fireworks displays.
In addition, Gia Lai province will welcome and work with delegations from the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic; organize the Great Thousand-Sea convergence Flower Festival; Gia Lai Province Investment and Trade Promotion Conference in 2025; start construction and inauguration of a number of key projects; participate in exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day in Hanoi.
The series of commemorative activities aims to affirm the historical significance and stature of the August Revolution in 1945 and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam); the cause of victory, lessons learned, creative application in the struggle for independence and national reunification, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The events also contribute to highlighting the country's great achievements over the past 80 years, especially after nearly 40 years of renovation, affirming the increasingly strong foundation, potential, position and international prestige; at the same time, honoring the contributions, sacrifices and contributions of the entire Party, people, army and valuable help of international friends through the revolutionary stages.
