On August 19, the leader of the People's Committee of Binh Khe commune (Gia Lai province) said that the authorities had inspected and issued a record against Truong Thinh Brick and Tile Production Company Limited for the act of gathering and using scrap fabric as incinerator in the brick kiln.

Previously, on August 17, the Working Group of Binh Khe Company conducted an inspection at the company's production facility and discovered that the enterprise used scraps of fabric to burn the furnace. At the scene, the authorities recorded 53 sacks containing scraps of fabric, with a total weight of about 1.9 tons, gathered right in front of the furnace door.

Working with the Working Group, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hai - Director of Truong Thinh Brick and Tile Manufacturing Company Limited - explained that the company only uses scrap fabric to spread the fire. Mr. Hai also refused to open the warehouse to check, citing the need for consensus from shareholders.

According to the leader of Binh Khe Commune People's Committee, using scrap fabric - industrial waste as incinerator is not in accordance with regulations. The locality has drawn up a record of the incident and is coordinating with the Environmental Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police to handle it.

According to local people, these scraps of fabric are collected from garment factories, then sold to brick kilns for about 800,000 VND/ton, much cheaper than firewood or mortar. fabric burning activities often take place at night to avoid detection.
