Accordingly, immediately after the end of the 3rd National Press Award Ceremony on "Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam" - 2025 (taking place in October 2025), the Organizing Committee officially launched the 4th specialized press award on "agriculture and rural areas". This is the 4th consecutive time the specialized press award on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas has been organized. The award is chaired by the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union, in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association; Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet e-newspaper is assigned to coordinate with Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - Agribank.
With the theme "Building the image of Vietnamese farmers in the new era, confidently stepping into a new era", the 4th National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam - 2026 is organized to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress (term 2026-2031) on "Building a civilized and comprehensively developed Vietnamese farmer class, with will, self-reliance, self-strengthening, aspiration to rise up; promoting the role of farmers as the subjects in agricultural and rural economic development, building new rural areas"; continuing to implement Resolution 19-NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas in 2030, with a vision to 2045.At the same time, creating an atmosphere of emulation and striving of cadres and members of the country towards welcoming and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (term 2026-2031).

Journalist Nguyen Van Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the award - said: "Continuing the success from 3 previous seasons, this year the award has many innovations in terms of scale and prize structure. Accordingly, regarding the scale of the award, we decided to increase from 3 A prizes to 5 A prizes for 5 official press types: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio/podcast, television and photo. The A prize is worth 30 million VND in prize money; along with many other meaningful prizes with a total of 50 different prizes, worth more than 530 million VND".
According to journalist Nguyen Van Hoai, there are two noteworthy new points in this season: First, for the radio category, the Organizing Committee not only receives works from traditional channels and radio systems but also receives podcast works on the internet platform from press agencies.Second, this is the first time the Organizing Committee has opened an additional photo contest category "Vietnamese Rural Area 40 years of Doi Moi".The organization of the photo contest on the above topic is to implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress on "Summary report on some theoretical and practical issues on the renovation in the socialist orientation over the past 40 years in Vietnam".In which, the main content will focus on the picture of rural Vietnam through 40 years of implementing Doi Moi of the country.
According to the Award Regulations announced by the Organizing Committee, the press award for "tam nong" in 2026 prioritizes press works on topics such as: Strongly shifting from agricultural production thinking to agricultural economic thinking towards commodities, developing green, organic, circulating, low-emission, and ecological environment protection agriculture.Issues of breakthroughs in science and technology, digital transformation; private economic development in agriculture and rural areas; development of advanced Vietnamese rural culture, imbued with national identity; examples and portraits of farmers who innovate and take the lead in production and business.
Ms. Bui Thi Thom - Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the award - emphasized: "In order to continue implementing Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW of the Politburo on renovating and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period, especially to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has directed and assigned Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet electronic newspaper to coordinate with relevant units to continue organizing the award with a scale and form that has many innovations.This is a national-scale press award, very meaningful and practical.In addition to cash prizes, the winning authors and groups of authors will be awarded certificates of merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union".

+ Award scale: 50 prizes; including 5 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 11 C prizes, 15 consolation prizes and 11 thematic prizes.
+ Total prize value: 531 million VND, including each A prize for print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio/podcast, television worth 30 million VND/prize. Each B prize is worth 20 million VND, each C prize is worth 10 million VND, along with other prizes belonging to the consolation prize group, thematic prizes and the prize group of the photo contest "Vietnamese Rural Area 40 years of Doi Moi".
