The movie "Giang Son Dai Dong" with the participation of Duong Mich and Luu Hoc Nghia, officially started filming at the end of March. According to Sohu, the work was invested up to 300 million yuan (about 1.1 billion VND), but right from the start of filming it was entangled in many controversies.
The first reason stemmed from Duong Mich's fans preparing many large banners to support their idol. However, the producer worried that Luu Hoc Nghia would feel inferior, so they secretly removed some banners, causing Duong Mich's fans to be angry.
The second reason relates to the script. Duong Mich plays Empress Dowager Feng, a rare outstanding female politician in Chinese history. Some details in the film have been changed, for example, her policies have been revised to be implemented by her and the character Thac Bat Tuan (played by Luu Hoc Nghia), reducing her outstanding achievements.
Many other important characters such as Hien Van De and Thac Bat Hong were also cut, clearly aiming to focus on the character Thac Bat Tuan, causing fans on both sides to argue fiercely online.

In the film, Duong Mich plays 2 roles, Phung Thuy and Phung Yen Nhi, with ages spanning more than 40 years, posing a major challenge in acting. Although the film is promoted around Phung Yen Nhi, many viewers reading the script realize that the actual content is still focused on the family of Thac Bat Tuan.
Screenwriter Kim Hai Tu wrote the script for "Triều Bắc Ngụy" 10 years ago but could not do it because of casting issues, now only changing his perspective to Phung Yen Nhi, Duong Mich agreed to accept the role, causing many people to comment that this is actually a "yin and yang script".
Giang Son Dai Dong" tells the story of King Bac Yen protecting the country from the Northern Wei, who had to marry his youngest daughter Phung Thuy (played by Duong Mich) to Thac Bat Dao (played by Ho Quan) as a concubine. But that could not prevent Thac Bat Dao's ambition to expand its territory.
Thac Bat Dao still successively destroyed Dai Ha, Bac Yen, Bac Luong, and reunified the North. Carrying the veil of the debtor, Phung Thuy secretly determined to destroy the puppet army and restore Bac Yen.
After Thac Bat Dao passed away, the court underwent upheaval and finally Thac Bat Tuan (played by Luu Hoc Nghia) ascended the throne. At this time, Phung Thuy plotted to promote the relationship between her niece Phung Yen Nhi (also played by Duong Mich) and Thac Bat Tuan. Thac Bat Tuan was infatuated with Phung Yen Nhi, and then made her empress despite all objections.
Before participating in "Giang Son Dai Dong", Duong Mich once attracted attention with a role in a rural-themed film "Sinh Van Vat", affirming top-notch acting and dispelling negative reviews of her previous role in "Ho Yeu Tieu Hong Nuong: Nguyet Hong Thien".
Following the success, she accepted to participate in "Giang Son Dai Dong", a historical film taking the perspective of the Queen Mother - a rare direction in Chinese television - and received special attention from China Central Television (CCTV).
