On the morning of April 18 (the 2-3rd day of the Lunar New Year), at Ba Ponagar Tower, the Agarwood Festival of Khanh Hoa province in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Tourism organized the ancestral worship ceremony of the Agarwood profession.

According to Mr. Bien Quoc Dung - Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Agarwood Association, since 2019, the Association has unanimously chosen the 2nd day of the 3rd lunar month every year (after the opening day of Am Chua festival to commemorate Thien Y A Na Thanh Mau) as the death anniversary of the ancestor of Agarwood making.
This year's ancestral worship ceremony attracted more than 100 delegates from inside and outside the province, along with members of the Khanh Hoa Agarwood Association to attend.


At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the history of birth and the meaning of the ancestral death anniversary of the Vietnamese Agarwood industry; and offered incense at the Ponagar Tower relic site and the Am Chua relic site (Dien Dien commune, Dien Khanh district) - the place to worship Thien Y A Na Thanh Mau.
In addition, the organizing committee also reported on the achievements of offering incense to Saint Mother - products achieving Ocop 3 stars - 4 stars; typical National Rural Industry products in 2025.


At the same time, honoring products that have achieved Ocop and typical rural industrial products at the national level.
According to folk beliefs, Thien Y A Na Thanh Mau is considered the ancestor of Vietnam's Agarwood industry. March 2-3 of the lunar calendar every year is also chosen by the Vietnam Agarwood Association as the ancestral death anniversary.
Also within the framework of the program, delegates shared about the cooperation program to develop the agarwood industry, as well as the orientation of activities and business of the Khanh Hoa Agarwood Association in the coming time.
The Agarwood Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony is an activity imbued with cultural and spiritual features, held annually, expressing the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source", and also contributing to connecting agarwood artisans in Khanh Hoa and localities across the country.
