Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City said that this year, Hai Phong welcomed the Red P figure Flower Festival with a very special attitude as the port city prepared to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation. This is an event of great significance in the history and culture of Hai Phong and the country.
Ms. Mai added that in addition to the event celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day, on May 13, the city was also honored to receive the title of "Heroic City", becoming the second locality in the country (after Ho Chi Minh City) to be awarded this noble title by the President.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City also organized a parade, praising the mass forces with the participation of 42 delegations representing all classes of people, right at the City Theater Square - where 70 years ago, cadres and soldiers took over the city.
On this occasion, Hai Phong City also focused on caring for and expressing gratitude to people with meritorious services and policy families; at the same time, supporting 1,720 residential groups (each group received 10 million VND) as gifts from the city to celebrate the city's big holiday.
Mr. Hoang Cong Cuong - General Director of the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day - said that in the past 2 months, the program implementation team has made great efforts to create a special highlight, both in terms of content meaning and media appeal for the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary and the Red Phinx Festival.
According to Mr. Cuong, in addition to solemn rituals to summarize the 70 years of formation and development and important milestones of Hai Phong, towards the future, the commemorative program also has a live national anthem singing with the presence of 13,000 delegates and on-site audiences.

The program director revealed that in the 3 art sections, for the first time, a special script concept will be applied, turning the entire stage of this 70th anniversary into a documentary but depicted on stage. This is a fairly new language in a festival event with the goal of recreating a grand scene, immersing the audience in a unique stage set...
The festival will have many famous artists and singers participating in the performance, such as: People's Artist Khanh Hoa, People's Artist Nhat Thuan, People's Artist Pham Thu Ha, singers Tung Duong, Soobin Hoang Son, Phuong Linh... along with many professional artists and actors.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary, Hai Phong City coordinated with the Vietnam Railway Authority to launch the "Red Phow Phuong Hoa tau line" with 20 train cars containing cultural spaces, including luxury, 5-star train cars. These train cars are being completed in Ho Chi Minh City.
On this occasion, Hai Phong also organized high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays at 6 locations across the city on the evening of May 13. This is the first time the port city has organized many fireworks display locations at the same time.
