The Korean drama "The practical guide to love" (tentatively translated: Love Handbook) written by Lee Yi Jin and directed by Lee Jae Hoon, tells the story of a woman who decides to pursue love and starts seeing her husband.
Here, she meets two men with completely different attractions. When gradually being moved and wavering between them, she begins her journey to find the true meaning of love. Han Ji Min plays the female lead Lee Eui Young.
Sharing about the movie, Han Ji Min said: "I am attracted to the very real-life love story and the worries that many people often have in the stage of starting to seriously think about marriage. It makes me feel extremely empathetic.
She described the character's greatest attraction as sincerity: "Lee Eui Young's greatest and most precious charm is honesty and sincerity.
Whether at work, when with friends, when going to the doctor, or when struggling with emotions in love, she still does not lose that sincerity.
In the movie, Lee Eui Young is a talented woman, recognized and trusted in her work, but falls into a state of prolonged stagnation in her love life.
Han Ji Min added: "I think this is a type of character that many people can see themselves in - an ordinary person that we easily encounter among friends around. I myself can immediately think of one or two friends like her.
After working hard, then suddenly one day starting to think about getting married, it seems like a very natural period that many people will go through. She is not an extraordinary person, but like someone who may be right next to you, and that is what makes her even more attractive.
When asked what the audience should pay attention to, Han Ji Min shared: "I hope the audience can follow Lee Eui Young's emotional journey naturally. The film truthfully portrays the emotions we experience through meetings and breakups, as well as the vibrations, confusion and anxiety when starting a new love.
The actress also asked: "If you were Lee Eui Young, who would you choose between Song Tae Seop (Park Sung Hoon) and Shin Ji Soo (Lee Ki Taek)? I hope the audience will try to think from her perspective", thereby increasing expectations about the direction of emotional development and the final decision of the character.
The movie "The practical guide to love" will air its first episode at 10:40 PM on February 28th on JTBC.
