About 4 km from the center of Nghia Hanh district, Binh Thanh village (Hanh Nhan commune) is a peaceful countryside with a cool green garden landscape, where many types of native fruit trees have been planted for more than 30 years.
Community tourism in Binh Thanh village was included in the development plan by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province from May 2018. In 2019, this place officially welcomed the first groups of visitors with about 200 people, mainly visiting fruit tree growing models.
During the April 30 holiday this year, Binh Thanh Agricultural - Service and Community Tourism Cooperative organized a "Countryside Food Festival" in Binh Thanh village, attracting tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to have fun and enjoy cuisine.
When coming here, visitors will enjoy dishes with rich local flavors such as crispy banh xeo, mixed with spicy and sour jackfruit, refreshing grapefruit salad, fragrant corn and rice rapids, rich grilled snakehead fish, along with traditional cakes such as banh chung, banh tet, banh it, banh flour, banh su se...
indispensable are rustic grilled dishes and sweet, sophisticated sweet soups. All are hand-processed by local people right in the middle of the vast, airy countryside - bringing a culinary experience that is both rustic and nostalgic.
In addition, visitors can also enjoy a variety of local specialties such as grapefruit, sweet banana, pepper banana, banana, star apple... along with performances and clubs imbued with the cultural identity of the Central region.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Hai (from Truong Quang Trong ward, Quang Ngai city) shared: When I heard the introduction of the 'countryside cuisine' program in Binh Thanh, my family and I were very excited to visit. I really like the community tourism product here. It is interesting to enjoy rustic dishes such as jackfruit salad, banh xeo, banh bao... in the peaceful countryside. My children also participated in many fun activities associated with the countryside, helping them have many memorable childhoods.
Through this festival, the locality hopes to promote the potential of community tourism, attract more tourists to visit and experience, and at the same time contribute to increasing people's income.
Mr. Doan Phu Vietnam - Director of Binh Thanh Agricultural - Service and Community Tourism Cooperative - said that this festival has nearly 50 households in the village participating. The program took place over two nights, from April 30 to May 1, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in Ba Danh field area, Binh Thanh village, Hanh Nhan commune. During the festival, more than 18,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited and experienced it.
