The Bloomberg billionaire index shows that Alisher Usmanov, a shareholder of Metalloinvest, Russia's largest iron ore producer, has accumulated $3.64 billion since the beginning of 2025, with his assets increasing to $16.9 billion.
Andrey Melnichenko's assets, co-founder of EuroChem and SUEK, increased by 2.52 billion USD to 22.7 billion USD.
Vladimir Lisin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NLMK, suffered the largest loss, with assets reduced by 2.3 billion USD to 23.5 billion USD.
Bloomberg has published the Bloomberg Billionaire Index since March 2012. This ranking includes information about the assets of the 500 richest people in the world.
Earlier, in mid-April, Forbes magazine said that the richest people in Russia saw their assets increase by more than 8% to 625.5 billion USD over the past year, with at least 146 billionaires listed among the richest people in Russia in the Russian version of the magazine.
Vagit Alekperov, former director of oil company Lukoil, topped the list of richest people in Russia voted by Forbes for the second year, with assets worth 28.7 billion USD. He resigned Lukoil's chair in 2022 after the UK imposed sanctions on him personally.
Billionaire Alexei Mordashov is second on Forbes' rankings this year, with assets of 28.6 billion USD. Last year, this businessman was ranked fourth.
Forbes said that there are 15 new billionaires in the rankings, including Vikram Punia, an Indian-born, owner of a pharmaceutical company Pharmasyntez, with assets worth $2.1 billion.
