Jisoo (Blackpink) called for boycott

Jisoo (Blackpink) is facing a wave of fierce reaction from the Korean online community because of her brother's private life scandal.

In recent days, Korean public opinion has been stirred up by a series of private scandals related to Kim Jung Hoon - Jisoo's brother. This person was arrested by the police to investigate allegations of sexual assault on a female streamer after a private meeting.

Although admitting physical contact, Kim denied using violence or coercion. On April 17, the female streamer continued to send a complaint to the Gangnam Police Department, claiming that Kim and a friend had threatened to spread her private photos.

During the day, police also proposed a temporary detention order for Kim, but the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office rejected it because there was not enough basis.

Not stopping there, an anonymous account claiming to be Kim's wife continued to post a series of articles accusing him of physical abuse, strictly controlling his personal life and monitoring his wife during marriage.

However, these accusations have not yet been verified. Faced with an increasingly fierce wave of controversy, Kim Jung Hoon's side remains silent.

Although the authorities have not issued an official conclusion, the wave of outrage on Korean social networks is still increasing strongly. Kim Jung Hoon has become the focus of criticism, while Jisoo has also been affected and caught up in a wave of boycotts in Korea.

Many netizens questioned whether Kim Jung Hoon had taken advantage of money and influence from his younger sister to cover up wrongdoings, especially after information appeared that some articles related to allegations of secret filming in 2025 had been removed.

In the context of escalating controversy, a part of public opinion even called on Jisoo to withdraw from group activities to avoid affecting the overall image of Blackpink.

On the evening of April 20, BLISSOO company - founded by Jisoo - issued an official announcement through legal representative Kim & Chang, affirming that the incident that is spreading online is completely unrelated to the female artist or the company.

The legal side said that Jisoo has lived independently for many years, since she was a trainee, and has no connection or understanding of the personal life of the person mentioned. At the same time, the company also denied information that her family participated in operating or managing BLISSOO.

Previously, in June 2025, Jisoo was involved in a wave of controversy in South Korea after her brother was accused of being involved in shocking private acts, including secretly filming sex scenes and sharing sensitive videos with acquaintances.

The accuser also claimed that the female singer's older brother had a complex love life, dated many women at the same time and had acts of controlling and forcing the other party to send sensitive content.

Although the accusations focused on her brother, Jisoo's name was still directly mentioned in the accusation post and appeared densely in the media, causing the female singer to be drawn into controversy and suffer many mixed reactions from public opinion.
