On the evening of April 20, BLISSOO company - founded by Jisoo (Blackpink) - issued an official statement through legal representatives Kim & Chang, clarifying that the incident that is spreading online has no connection with artist Jisoo or the company.
The noise began when information appeared that a man about 30 years old, called A, was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a female streamer.
When information spread that this person was Jisoo's brother, the female singer herself suffered no less criticism. Therefore, Jisoo's company had to speak out to explain.
In the announcement, the legal team said that Jisoo has lived independently for many years since she was an idol intern and has no connection or knowledge of this person's personal life. The company also denied that her family participated in managing or operating BLISSOO.
Although artists may have received some limited advice from their families in the early stages of establishing the company, no family members have ever received remuneration or participated in making decisions," the statement stated. It also emphasized that the company is always operated independently, without interference from the family.
The company also affirmed that neither Jisoo nor BLISSOO provided financial or legal support to the man mentioned, and had no plans to do so in the future. At the same time, strongly denied rumors that this person was a co-founder or held an executive position in the company.
In addition, the company expressed serious concern about the spread of unverified and false information, claiming that these acts have infringed upon the rights and reputation of artists.
Jisoo's legal representative warned that they will take strict civil and criminal legal measures against individuals who create or disseminate malicious content, including defaming, illegally using artist names/images, as well as posting unverified speculative information.
The statement concluded with a tough stance that there would be no leniency or reconciliation for those who intentionally or repeatedly spread false information.
