On June 22, Korean media reported that the movie "The trauma code: Heroes on call" is expected to start filming its next part in October this year.
The production team is said to be planning to simultaneously produce season 2 and season 3. Season 2 will consist of 8 episodes and the script for the first 4 episodes has been completed.
Trauma Care Center" tells the story of trauma surgery genius Baek Kang Hyuk (played by Joo Ji Hoon), a former battlefield doctor tasked with reviving a trauma center at a large hospital that is operating ineffectively and on the verge of collapse.
The film combines stressful emergency cases with depth stories about the characters.
The new season will expand the story when Baek Kang Hyuk goes to trauma centers in many localities across the country, where he faces new medical challenges and emergency situations.
The main cast of season 1 is expected to return, including Joo Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young and Yoon Kyung Ho. In addition, many new characters will also appear in each episode, bringing new storylines to the work.

In particular, Joo Ji Hoon's comeback is highly anticipated. The 44-year-old actor has recently been one of the faces sought after by producers.
After "Center for Trauma Care", he continues to impress in the psychological, sensational film "Climax". Joo Ji Hoon plays an ambitious prosecutor from an ordinary background, determined to break into the Korean upper class and gradually climb to the peak of power.
In the near future, he will return with a large-budget Disney+ film "Queen Remarried", expected to air this year.
Continuing to take on the main role in 2 new parts of "Trauma Treatment Center" will help Joo Ji Hoon take advantage of the success of the first season.
When it was released in January 2025, "Trauma Care Center" quickly became a phenomenon. The film maintained its No. 1 position on the Netflix Korea's best-selling TV series chart for 22 consecutive days.
At the same time, the film also topped the list of most watched non-English TV shows on Netflix globally.
Only 3 weeks after release, the work has become the 7th highest viewed original film of Netflix Korea to date.
The work and cast also achieved resounding achievements at film awards ceremonies. Joo Ji Hoon won the Best Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Blue Dragon Television Awards.
Meanwhile, "Center for Trauma Care" also won the Best Drama award at the Blue Dragon Drama Awards and Seoul International Drama Awards, thereby consolidating its position as one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in recent years.
