We are all trying here" tells the story of Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan) - who among his successful friends believes that he is the only one whose life is not as desired.
Tormented by suffering, jealousy and envy, he begins a journey to seek peace. This journey is accompanied by film producer Byun Eun Ah (Go Yoon Jung) - who always tries to be strong to hide the inner wounds.
The project marks Koo Kyo Hwan's return after the movie "No More We".
He plays Dong Man - a man trapped for 20 years while his friends who once shared the same ideals - shared the same dream of making films - have all become successful producers, directors and film directors. To suppress his sense of uselessness, he constantly monologues with those around him.
Sharing about the first time reading the script, Koo Kyo Hwan admitted that he felt that not only his diary was leaked but also like he was secretly reading everyone's diary. According to the male actor, the film will reveal secret truths that people want to hide.
The lines in the film are realistic and clearly expressed through the characters, especially Dong Man: "I am that kind of person. If someone treats me well, even just a little bit, I will give them everything. But why should I be good to those who don't like me? I'm like arched paper - if they are acidic, I'm also acidic; if they are alkaline, I'm also alkaline" - the actor shared about the lines of his character.
Regarding co-star Go Yoon Jung - who plays Byun Eun Ah, Koo Kyo Hwan gave many compliments. The male star said that his junior possesses an innocent, approachable but also very mature appearance, knowing how to understand others.
The more I watched Yoon Jung's performance, the more fascinated and admirable I felt. She acted with her eyes very well. There are many scenes where Dong Man talks non-stop while Eun Ah just silently listens, but at the end of the scene, I felt like I had heard her voice from beginning to end.
The movie "We are all trying here" will air on April 18.
