Recently, actor La Van Hi officially announced his personal tour named "Hi giới vô hạn kịch trường". The first concert in Nanjing (China) on July 25th just opened ticket sales and immediately caused a fever.
But behind that excitement, La Van Hi's career story caused controversy.
He used to be an actor covering the screen with the role of Nhuan Ngoc in "Huong mat thua khoi suong", once shouldered the S+ level project (large production investment) "Truong nguyet tan minh", now there has been no new film started for more than half a year since "Thuy long ngam" (October 2025).
While Chinese actors of the 8X and 9X generations continuously squeeze into drama films and time-themed films to compete, a famous star like La Van Hi is having to maintain its heat by organizing concerts.
After the explosive effect of "Trường nguyệt tẫn minh" (2023), La Vân Hi's next works continuously failed. "Người yêu hệ chữa lành" starring with Chương Nhược Nam and "Nhan tâm ký" collaborating with Tống Dật both failed to create a buzz.
Last year, the S+ super project "Thuy Long Ngam" was once expected to help him return to the peak of the fairy tale film genre. But the results were not as expected, Douban scores only reached 5.7; the average viewership of the film was only about 11.8 million/episode, much lower than the standard of an S+ film.
After a series of failures, the "male god" aura of La Van Hi gradually faded, and the level of fame and voice in the industry was no longer the same as before.

One of the factors considered to be the cause of La Van Hi's career deadlock is due to contract conflicts with her former management company Trung Thi Dong Thanh.
When signing the contract in 2015, he became a new actor who rose to fame thanks to the role of Ha Di Sam in his youth in the movie "You Are My Sunshine". In the next 10 years, thanks to the roles of Nhuan Ngoc and Dam Dai Tan, he became famous and became the biggest "money-making tree" of the company.
However, according to many sources in the industry, the profit sharing that La Van Hi received was quite low. At the peak of his fame, after the company deducted expenses, the actual amount received by the male actor was said to be less than 30%.
By 2025, when the contract expired, La Van Hi's side requested an increase in the profit sharing ratio but was refused. In the end, he decided not to extend the contract, leading to conflicts between the two sides.
Sources say that the company has sharply reduced promotional activities for projects such as "Thuy Long Ngam" and "Pha Ken".
On the other hand, partners in the industry also do not want to confront the company, leading to La Van Hi having difficulty having new projects. His current schedule is mainly participating in entertainment programs and organizing concerts.
Besides, media analysis, personal image and scope of roles are also internal knots that are difficult to untie for La Van Hi.
It is undeniable that he is extremely suitable for historical films. The ballet background helps him have beautiful posture, and his eyes are very suitable for tragic characters.
But it is also that that becomes the limit. From Nhuan Ngoc, Dam Dai Tan to Duong Le Tu, the characters all have similar colors: cold, tragic backgrounds, stubborn for love. Audiences gradually feel tired of this familiar formula.
Another issue is his figure. Although he is about 1m77 tall, La Van Hi is very thin, making his cheekbones protrude high and his body quite slender. In ancient costume films, elaborate costumes can hide this disadvantage, but when acting in modern films, the feeling of being thin and weak is clearly revealed, making him disadvantaged.
