According to Money Today, the person who provided the recording, believed to be of the late actor Kim Sae Ron, to Kim Sae Ron's family and YouTube channel Garosero (called A) claimed to have been attacked by strangers in New Jersey, USA.
Kim Se Ui - YouTuber leading Garosero channel and lawyer representing Kim Sae Ron's family said that Kim Soo Hyun was the mastermind behind this attack, after the information provider did not agree to accept the money to return the recording.
However, these statements were confirmed to be untrue.
The Consulate General of Korea in New York (USA) said that under the management of this agency, there has not been any recent case of a Korean citizen being arrested for committing a crime such as attempting to murder a compatriot living abroad.
The consulate explained: According to Article 36 of the Vietnam Convention on Consular Relations, if a South Korean citizen is arrested or detained, local law enforcement agencies are obliged to immediately notify the consulate of the relevant country.
They affirmed: "Up to now, we have not received any notice from local law enforcement agencies regarding this incident." That means the incident has not even been picked up by the local investigation agency.

Previously, on May 7, Kim Se Ui, head of Garosero channel, and the family's lawyer Kim Sae Ron, held a press conference, stating that A had been attacked by two strangers (one Korean and one Chinese) on May 1.
