At noon on May 7 (Vietnam time), during a press conference broadcast live via YouTube channel Garosero, the legal representative of Kim Sae Ron's family released a recording that was said to contain Kim Sae Ron's voice, confessing that she had dated Kim Soo Hyun since high school, and the two had sex when Kim Sae Ron was just in his second year in high school.
Kim Soo Hyun's management company - Gold Medalist - was accused of offering to pay the information provider to get the recording. In addition, the information provider was threatened and attacked, endangering his life on May 1, after refusing to sell evidence.
On the afternoon of May 7, LKB & Partners, legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun and management company Gold Medalist, gave an official response.
Kim Soo Hyun's side affirmed that "the recording with the late actor Kim Sae Ron was fake, created by AI or another method".
The lawyer added that the person who transferred the recording to Garosero was a scammer, who approached Gold Medalist with similar content that he was holding the recording of Kim Sae Ron giving a speech that benefited Kim Soo Hyun.
He sent a portion of the recording (featuring Kim Sae Rons voice) along with a request for money, but the recording was edited and forged, and Gold Medalist did not accept any request from this person, the lawyer said.
Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer emphasized: "The recording provider has no connection with Kim Sae Ron. Because he could not deceive Gold Medalist, he colluded with Garosero to release a fake recording. Gold Medalist is currently conducting a technical inspection of the recording and will share the results as soon as it is available.
In addition, Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer stated that the accusation that the record keeping was assaulted under the direction of Gold Medalist was unreasonable. The "attacked" photo that Garosero published is a photo that can be easily found online. Garosero and the recording supplier took photos online as evidence of the attack.
Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative said: "Garosero's press conference was another manipulation, when they were forced into the foot of a wall for defamation, harassment, monitoring and forgery of evidence, with the aim of carrying out cyberterrorism against Kim Soo Hyun".
Gold Medalist plans to immediately sue the head of YouTube channel Garosero for violations of the law on punishment of harassment, monitoring and violation of the law on the media network (fraud).
