According to Koreaherald, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea content and creativity agency (KOCCA) have just announced that the "16th Korean Mass Culture and Arts Awards" and "Backstage Personnel Awards" will be held consecutively at the Korean National Theater in Seoul on October 22 and 23.
The mass Culture and Arts Awards are a noble award of the Korean government for individuals or groups that contribute to the development of the cultural, mass arts and Hallyu waves.
At this year's ceremony, 6 individuals will be awarded the Cultural Medal, 7 individuals (or groups) will be awarded the President's Certificate of Merit, 8 individuals (or groups) will be awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit and 10 individuals (or groups) will be awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Actress Kim Hae Sook will receive the Eungwan Cultural Medal (level 2). Actor Lee Byung Hun and Jung Dong Hwan will receive the Bogwan Cultural Medal (level 3).
The Okgwan Cultural Medal (level 4) will be awarded to voice actor Bae Han Sung, late comedian Jeon Yoo Sung and singer G-Dragon (Big Bang).

The President's Certificates of Merit were awarded to a total of 7 individuals (or groups): actors Kim Mi Kyung, Lee Min Ho, Lee Jung Eun; music groups TVXQ, Seventeen; singer Rose (Blackpink) and voice actor Kim Eun Young.
The Prime Minister's Certificates of Merit were awarded to 8 individuals (or groups): actors Kim Ji Won, Kim Tae Ri, Park Bo Young, Park Hae Joon, Joo Ji Hoon; music groups ATEEZ, TWICE and musician Choi Hee Sun.
The Certificates of Merit of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism were awarded to 10 individuals (or groups): actors Go Yoon Jung, Byeon Woo Seok, Ji Chang Wook, Choo Young Woo; music groups Riize, Le Sserafim, I-dle, Zero base One; comedian Lee Su Ji and choreographer Bebe.
