On the evening of April 28, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of the city to organize a rehearsal and flight performance of 10,500 drones in the Saigon River area between Ben Bach Dang (District 1) and East Coast Park (Thu Duc City).
This is a program in the series of " Colors of Uncle Ho's City" Festival taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The performance area is on the Saigon River along both sides of the riverbank of Thu Duc City and District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Organizing Committee, the performance using 10,500 drones creates vivid images, recreating important historical moments of the nation, such as the image of the tanks ramming the gate of the Independence Palace, the Liberation flag flying on the roof of the Independence Palace and the image of President Ho Chi Minh. The promising images bring a unique experience, perfect combination of modern technology and stage art.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy (26 years old, living in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) said that she was excited to watch this drone performance.
"I see iconic images, reminiscent of the glorious moments of the nation, and at the same time express the aspiration to rise in the new era. The use of drone technology is a new way to recreate history, but also clearly demonstrates the strong development of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam" - Ms. Thanh Thuy said.
In addition, Mr. Huynh Thanh Minh (35 years old, living in Tan Binh District) shared that he was moved because the image of President Ho Chi Minh would appear in the performance, expressing gratitude and respect for the great leader of the nation.
"This is a strong message about the ideology of "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" and also a reminder of the journey to regain the independence of the Vietnamese people" - Mr. Thanh Minh said.

The 10,500 drone performance is a grand artistic event and a testament to the remarkable development of technology and creativity in Ho Chi Minh City. This is an opportunity for people and tourists to feel the strength of solidarity, the desire to rise up and affirm Vietnam's role in the international arena in the new era.
On May 1, 2025, the official flight will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The Organizing Committee will prepare a dossier to propose establishing Vietnamese discipline for the largest number of drone flights at a time.
