“Light Shop” tells the story of guests with hidden secrets who are drawn to the mysterious lamp shop run by Won Young (Joo Ji Hoon).
The story also takes place simultaneously at a hospital - where nurse Young Ji (Park Bo Young) forms a strange connection with the people who come to the lamp shop.
After releasing the first 4 episodes on December 4, “Light Store” received positive feedback for its suspenseful content, combining many elements and impressive acting from the cast.
Besides the roles of Joo Ji Joon and Park Bo Young, the appearances of Seolhyun (as Ji Young - the mysterious woman who sits at the bus stop every night) and Um Tae Goo (as Hyun Min - the man who meets Ji Young at the bus stop on his way home) are of interest.
Sharing with Elle Korea magazine about her role, Seolhyun confessed that she cried a lot when reading the script.
“We filmed in cold weather, but it was a warm experience for me. This project has a unique atmosphere and it was a big challenge. I tried to lower my voice and speak slower than usual. I hope the audience will discover a new side of me through the film.”
Meanwhile, Um Tae Goo said he was both scared and moved after reading the original webtoon (website story) because he sympathized.
“Since I have never played a role like this before, the character Hyun Min itself is a challenge. That is why I am really curious about how the final result will turn out.
The story changes significantly from the middle onwards, and you can also feel the change in the actors' acting. My story with Seolhyun also changes, so it will be interesting to watch.”
Seolhyun and Um Tae Goo had worked together on the drama “The Great Battle of Ansi,” so they were happy to reunite. Seolhyun said she learned a lot from her senior and his absolute focus on set. The two became closer after filming each scene together.
Meanwhile, Um Tae Goo said that their collaboration this time was better than the last time. “Seolhyun is a kind person and a great actress. That really shines through in her work.
On set, Seolhyun always takes care of everyone and shows incredible energy when going through the more difficult parts of the shoot. I really admire that.”
“Light Shop” will air episodes 5 and 6 on December 12. The drama will end on December 18.
