At the premiere event of the movie Tai in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of March 2, before the question of whether the work would remind audiences of "Bui Doi Cho Lon", it quickly became the focus. The reason is that the film revealed many scenes of fighting and chasing at street corners, river scenes and a rather strong underworld atmosphere.
Bui Doi Cho Lon" was once not released in theaters for many reasons.
Regarding this issue, director Mai Tai Phen said that he does not put much emphasis on comparing with any previous works. According to him, when implementing the project, the most important thing is to build characters and the storyline.
When making this film, I only focus on my character, on each scene, each action segment to best serve the story. I don't do it for other social issues," Mai Tai Phen shared.
The male director added that in the way he builds scripts, he always aims for the character to face the consequences of his choice. "I always build the character until the end I have to pay the price for something," he emphasized.
According to Mai Tai Phen, the action element in Tai is a means to push up the drama, the film still mentions family affection, responsibility and decisions in difficult circumstances. Currently, he is putting all his heart into the project and hopes for audience support when the film is released in theaters.
In the role of producer, My Tam also spoke out about concerns related to security and legal details in the film. The female singer affirmed that the crew is always cautious when building content.
“The details related to legal issues in the film all have the handling participation of functional agencies in the storyline,” My Tam said.
Also at the press conference, My Tam attracted attention when she twice freely addressed herself as "em" (younger sister) while talking to Mai Tai Phen and answering the press. Before the media's questions, the female singer comfortably corrected: "Because of the way of addressing each other in the movie before the two collaborated, I got used to it. From the movie My Assistant, I addressed myself as em (younger sister) to Mai Tai Phen, but I couldn't address myself as sister, so from then on I always addressed myself as em (younger sister).
This moment made the event atmosphere more lively, and at the same time continued to attract attention to the relationship between My Tam and Mai Tai Phen.
The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 6.
