In the last days of April, Son Tra peninsula, Da Nang City, puts on a gentle purple coat as cool flowers bloom simultaneously, creating a poetic scene in the deep blue mountains and forests, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit and admire. Along the road leading to Ban Co Peak, tourists can easily see the purple color stretching along both sides of the mountain.
Vases of cool flowers blooming profusely on trees 4-5m high, some perennial trees reaching nearly 10m high, standing out in the primeval forest space. Interspersed in the sea breeze is the gentle, faint fragrance of this characteristic flower, bringing a feeling of relaxation to passersby.

According to many local people, freshwood flowers usually bloom from April to early May every year. This is also the most beautiful time to explore Son Tra, when the weather is dry, favorable for trekking, sightseeing and nature hunting activities. Not only does it bring landscape value, the freshwood tree is also an important food source for the red-shanked douc langur - a rare primate species known as the "queen of primates". Therefore, the flowering season is also an opportunity for tourists to observe this endemic animal appearing in nature.

Ms. Le Huyen My, a tourist from Hanoi, said that she has visited Da Nang many times and each time she spends time on Son Tra peninsula because she loves the pristine and peaceful beauty here.
This time I came right when the cool flowers were blooming, so I walked with a group of friends to Ban Co Peak to see the flowers. Before, I had seen many pictures on social networks and newspapers, but this is the first time I have witnessed them with my own eyes. Flowers bloom very beautifully, the whole forest seems to be dyed purple," Ms. My shared.
According to Ms. My, even more surprisingly, during the tour, her group also witnessed red-shanked douc langurs foraging on cool trees at a fairly close distance.

“That was a very memorable moment. I didn't think I could see rare langurs in real life so close. This is definitely my most special trip to Son Tra,” Ms. My said.
The cool flower season is becoming an attractive highlight of Son Tra peninsula, contributing to highlighting the unique beauty of the Da Nang coastal city nature reserve.
