Bekuh Boom - famous for co-writing many Blackpink hit songs such as "Boombayah", "Whistle", "DDU-DU DDU-DU", "Kill this love" and "Pretty savage" - has reappeared with new statements related to her experience in the Kpop industry.
Previously, at the beginning of this year, she publicly accused an entertainment company - believed by fans to be YG Entertainment - of exploiting her in the early stages of her career.
According to Bekuh Boom, at the age of 18, she was promised to sign a recording contract but it took many years to become a reality, and at the same time suffered verbal insults and enormous pressure, even being asked to have an abortion at times.
In a newly shared video, Boom clarified her experience, saying that the situation became much worse when she participated in the production of the song "Typa girl" (belonging to the album Born Pink).
She recalls a moment in the recording studio when someone said she was hired for "accepting a lower salary", implying she was underestimated compared to others.
She also said that an associate who used to work with her helped reduce stress in similar situations.
Boom declared that she did not know in advance about the release of Lisa's solo song "Money", even though she participated in the composing process; and said that profit sharing was not beneficial for her.
The discussion became more tense in the comments below the video. A viewer suggested that she could collaborate directly with Lisa because the female idol has now opened her own company, no longer related to YG.
However, Boom replied that none of the "them" (believed to be referring to Blackpink members) were willing to support or recognize her, and emphasized further "they are all one faction".
In addition, Boom also interacted with another comment that Blackpink members should have protected her. This further fueled speculation from fans, believing that the artists may have known about the accusations that YG treated Boom unfairly.
Reactions online were quite mixed, but many viewers supported Boom. They reviewed Blackpink's recent products and realized her absence in the credits.
However, fans also defended Blackpink, saying that Boom's statement could have a negative impact on the 4 members, while Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé are only artists under YG and are not the ones who signed a work contract with the female musician.
