On September 5, musician Nguyen Van Chung shared his observations on the popularity of music using artificial intelligence (AI) in life.
According to the male musician, on a long trip, he heard the driver continuously turn on a playlist, from pop music, bolero, folk songs to old music, but all were performed by AI.
Nguyen Van Chung said that this is not an isolated case. According to his personal observation in recent times, about every 10 trips he booked, 6-7 trips appeared in a similar situation.
The male musician also noticed AI music being used in some cafes.
From this reality, Nguyen Van Chung raised the issue of changes in the public's music listening habits, especially the neutral audience group, not fans of a specific artist.
Each singer has a fan base that always supports each product, I don't discuss it, but what about a neutral listener base?", Nguyen Van Chung asked.
The author of the billion-view song "Continuing the story of peace" put forward many hypotheses to explain why listeners choose AI music.
He raised the question of whether AI music is really better than products made by artists, whether the beat is newer and easier to listen to, or whether platforms create pre-made lists with many genres to help users conveniently, without having to spend time searching and translating songs.
Another possibility mentioned by Nguyen Van Chung is the change in the listener's perception when exposed to AI vocals for a long time.
According to him, technology can process singing smoothly and perform high notes relatively easily. Listening regularly can become a habit and make a part of the audience change their standards when returning to listen to the singer's real voice.
However, Nguyen Van Chung is not in a hurry to conclude that AI is the reason why artists lose listeners. He believes that it is necessary to find out why the public chooses this type of music instead of just blaming the development of technology.
I'm not discussing other issues, I just want to find out and survey the reasons to analyze why they don't choose to listen to music sung by singers but AI," he shared.
The male musician believes that from the changes in the market, creators also need to review the quality of their own products.
Instead of blaming AI, I am more concerned about that to improve the quality of music I make," Nguyen Van Chung wrote.
